Not an alarm. Not an app. Both, from one pull.
A loud alarm turns heads but reaches nobody. A safety app can call for help, provided you can get to your phone. OYA does both the moment you pull it, and tells the people you trust where you are.
Most safety tools stop halfway.
Each option handles one part of the problem. Here is the point where they leave you on your own.
Personal alarms
Loud, and heard by nobody. A siren turns heads, but it cannot call for help or say where you are.
Safety apps
Help waits behind your lock screen. Unlock, find the app, hit the right button, with your hands shaking.
Carrying nothing
Hoping for the best is not a plan. The most common choice, and the one that leaves you on your own.
All of it in one pull.
-
Hands-free SOS

Live location

-

Impossible to tune out.
-

Light for a street with none.

Shared inside your circle and nowhere else.

The remaining questions.
Straight answers to what people ask when they weigh OYA against the alternatives.
Contact supportIs my phone not enough?
Your phone is excellent right up to the moment you cannot get to it. OYA runs with no unlocking, no app to open and no need to hold anything: it handles the call and the location for you.
How is this different from a plain keychain alarm?
A plain alarm only makes a noise. OYA sounds the same 130 dB, then rings for help and passes your live location to the people you picked. The alarm is the opening move, not the whole game.
Is there a subscription?
None. The device runs on its own with no monthly fee, and joining the companion app in beta costs nothing.
What if I already run a safety app?
Keep it if it suits you. OYA covers the moments an app cannot reach, when the phone is buried in a bag or there is no time to tap. Plenty of people use the two together.
Will it work in another country?
Yes. OYA dials the emergency number of the country you are standing in, as long as your phone and network allow it.
Enough comparing.
Start carrying.
One pull covers what an alarm and an app each manage only halfway. Carry OYA every day.
